Many areas in snow-hit Irkutsk Reg still left without electricity

IRKUTSK, May 1 (Itar-Tass) -- After the snow storm in the Irkutsk
Region, 91 residential sites are still left without power supply, a source
at the Emergencies Ministry's regional department told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
On Saturday evening, electricity supply was resumed to two thirds of
the affected settlements. Sixty five remained disconnected. But on the
night to Sunday, 27 localities in the Zalari district were cut off because
of damages of a transformer substation switch. For the time being, 91
residential sites in five districts have no electricity - four in the
Cheremkhovo district, 27 in the Zalari area, 7 in the Usolye, 46 in the
Alarsky and seven in the Nukutsky districts. A state of emergency is
declared in these areas.
Forces and means of Oblkommunenergo and the Irkutsk electricity grid
company -- 155 teams numbering a total of 687 people with 42 units of
machines -- are working to resume the power supply as soon as possible.
