Chiang Mai organises halal food festival
CHIANG MAI, April 30 (TNA) - A Muslim community in Thailand’s northern resort Chiang Mai Province is organizing a halal food festival to promote halal food products by manufacturers in northern Thailand.
Chiang Mai’s Islamic Committee is holding the three-day festival, from April 29-May 1, at the Chiang Mai Airport with over 100 booths exhibiting their halal food products, as well as Islamic clothes, expected to generate a total sales revenue of at least one million baht a day.
It is the first trade fair of halal food ever in Chiang Mai. Part of the fair is also devoted for a cultural exhibition to display the unique way of life of Muslim people in northern Thailand. (TNA)
