"Serm Suk" terminates contract with US-based PepsiCo

BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) - Shareholders of Thailand-based Serm Suk Public Company Limited have voted anonymously to terminate an exclusive bottling contract with PepsiCo, a US-based beverage giant, paving the way for the Thai firm to produce or distribute other beverages on their own once the termination takes effect on April 1, 2012.
In the meantime, Serm Suk said Pepsi, Seven-up and Mirinda as well as other beverages under the trademark of Pepsi will remain available in Thailand through its existing business distribution network.
Parinya Permpanich, Serm Suk's director for marketing and sales, said that he expects his company can start negotiating with new business partners over the next six months and hopes it can sell its new beverages immediately after the contract with PepsiCo ends. (TNA)
