At least 50 members leave Syria's ruling Baath party in Rastan
BEIRUT, April 30 (Itar-Tass) -- At least 50 members of the ruling
Syrian Arab Baath Socialist Party withdrew from this political association
in Rastan, one of the human rights organizations in the country said.
The declaration on the withdrawal from the party was read out at an
anti-government demonstration. As police attacked the rally, 13 people
were killed.
The death toll in clashes between security forces and participants in
the demonstrations that took place in Syria on Friday stands at 62.
