Kiev does not rule out emergence of new gas supply mediator

KIEV, April 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry
Minister Yuri Boiko does not rule out the emergence of a new mediator for
gas supplies to Ukraine.
"We will buy gas from the one who will bring it to the border at the
lowest price. We are ready to buy gas from UzbekGazEnergo or KazMunaiGaz,
if it is 50 dollars cheaper. This will save our money. We will fight for
every dollar," Boiko said.
He believes that in three years' time Ukraine will be able to receive
liquefied natural gas from Azerbaijan under an agreement reached earlier
this week, when Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich paid a visit to that
country.
"This can be called a breakthrough towards the diversification of gas
supply to our country. We agreed on the supply of five billion cubic
meters of liquefied natural gas through a terminal in Odessa ... I am sure
that in three years' time we will be getting liquefied natural gas from
Azerbaijan," Boiko said.
