PAMPHLETS IN 4 LANGUAGES TO PREVENT CRIMES

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- More than a million pamphlets in
four languages will be distributed by the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) to prevent various types of crimes.

MCPF vice-chairman Lee Lam Thye said that this year's campaign was
held in conjunction with the "Merdeka" month celebration in line with the "Merdeka" spirit of focusing on personal safety, home and office security, crime prevention for ladies, teens and school kids, as well as the disabled.

Calling on all Malaysians to be part of the campaign and help convey its message, "Prevent Crime, Get Involved, We Can Do It Together", he said crime prevention was a collective responsibility.

Even though Malaysia had achieved independence and was free from
colonisation, the country was still not free from crime and the fear of crime, he said in a statement.

The foundation hoped to see all Malaysians adopt zero tolerance towards crime, develop an anti-crime culture and make crime prevention a way of life, he said, adding that the best crime prevention strategy and programme would not succeed if the public did not remain vigilant. -- BERNAMA
