MALAYSIANS ADVISED TO AVOID RALLIES IN BANGKOK
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysians in Bangkok have been advised to avoid rally grounds in the Thai capital as the situation may change instantly and without warning.
In giving the advice, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Rais Yatim said Malaysia was concerned with the well-being and safety of Malaysian citizens in Bangkok following the announcement of a state of emergency in Bangkok Tuesday due to the public disturbances there.
The Malaysia embassy in Bangkok was in constant contact with Malaysians in Bangkok, he said in a statement here Tuesday.
"They have been advised to be vigilant to situations around them and to continuously monitor developments in Bangkok," he said.
The ministry would also continue to monitor the situation there.
