Soc Trang equips Khmer pagodas with legal books
Soc Trang (VNA) - Mekong Delta Soc Trang province, home to the largest Khmer population in the country, has equipped all 92 local Khmer pagodas with bookshelves to help the ethnic minority people study laws and policies.
The bookshelves have proved to be useful for the local Khmer people as they get easier access to advanced cultivation and animal husbandry techniques.
Together with 105 legal bookcases provided for communes, the Khmer
pagoda-based bookshelves are regularly updated with new documents funded by
the provincial Department of Justice.
The initiative helps the locals, particularly the Khmer people, improve
their intellectual standards and knowledge of the State's laws and policies,
and apply technological and scientific advances to production.-Enditem
