Yemen approves MoU over combating piracy in Red Sea

SANA'A, Sep. 02 (Saba)- The cabinet approved on Tuesday a memorandum
of understanding between countries of west Indian ocean, Aden Gulf
and Red Sear to combat piracy.

The cabinet asked the Ministry of the Transport to sign the memo and
supervising on preparations for holding the 2nd regional meeting
over the memo that will be held in Sana'a from 27th to 30th October.

The cabinet affirmed important role of the international community
for boosting security and stability in Somalia and supporting its
temporary government as that enhance stability and security in the
region.Aden coastguard was carrying out extensive operations to
return a chemical tanker hijacked in the Gulf of Aden, a security
sources said on Monday.

The sources told the military-run 26sep.net that the Coastguard of
Aden block has received from the Caution Center a letter read that a
chemical tanker has been hijacked while being in the international
waters of Gulf of Aden.

The letter said that the tanker has been subjected to piracy acts by
unknown armed persons, according to the Information Center at the
Interior Ministry.Aden Coastguards said that they sent their boats
to know identity of kidnapers and the destination the tanker taken
to.

On the other hand, the cabinet formed a ministerial committee headed
by Minister of Legal Affairs to study comprehensive plan of
management for coastline regions presented by minister of water and
environment.
