Endeavour ready for final launch, Progress to dock with ISS
NEW YORK/MOSCOW, April 29 (Itar-Tass) -- U.S. space shuttle Endeavour
is scheduled to blast off on its final mission on Friday, while Russia's
Progress cargo ship is to dock with the international Space Station the
same day.
The 19-year old Endeavour will go on its 25th mission to the ISS
carrying spare parts also for Dextre, the robot in space. There will also
be four spacewalks during the mission.
Atlantis will be the last shuttle to fly. Its final mission is
scheduled for June.
Also on Friday the Progress spacecraft launched on April 27 from
Baikonur has to automatically dock with the ISS to deliver 2.6 tons of
cargoes. It carries food, water, fuel, oxygen and equipment.
