Thai exports expanding

BANGKOK, April 28 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Commerce's Department of Export Promotion said on Thursday that it believes Thai exports will, probably, grow as unexpectedly high as 15 per cent this year.
The department's deputy director general, Wuthichai Duangrat, acknowledged that Thailand has a bright prospect for exports this year and should outperform its 12 per cent export growth target with an increment of as much as 15 per cent, as global trade has been expanding.
Wuthichai revealed that Thai exports grew by as much as 28.3 per cent over the past three months, amounting to over 56 billion US dollars, as Thai products are well recognized and demanded by worldwide markets.
However, Wuthichai warned that Thai business operators are to be prepared for a possible global economic downturn and learn more about relevant regulations and procedures.
The senior Thai official said that his department is organizing training for local exporters and importers, focusing on one-stop export service centers aimed at streamlining Thailand's export services and reducing time for local exporters to contact relevant agencies. (TNA)
