Businesses pioneer renewal cause, Deputy PM

Hanoi (VNA) - Local entrepreneurs and businesses are pioneers in the
country's renewal and international integration process, helping to lift Vietnam on a par with other powerful nations around the world, said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung at a ceremony to present awards honouring the best businesses and brands.

Addressing the "Sao Vang Dat Viet" (Vietnam Golden Star) awards presentation ceremony in Hanoi on Sept. 2, the Deputy PM said award manifests both honour and responsibility of the winning businesses, and that he hoped there will be more successful companies and brands in the future.

This year, 200 of the country's most outstanding brands won the award.

The year marks the first time the trademarks are separately selected for the Top 10, Top 100 and Top 200, depending on their performances in the past year.

This year's Top 10 include the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, the Vietnam Rubber Group, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural
Development, the Corp for Financing and Promoting Technology, and the Saigon Jewelry Company.

The Hanoi General Export-Import Joint Stock Company, the Truong Hai Auto Group, the Dong Tam Tile Company, the Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Company and the Viet Tien Garment Company are also voted as the most 10 excellent brands.

Reports show that last year the 200 winning enterprises with total 390,000 workers posted combined revenue of 24 billion USD and contributed 24 trillion VND (1.5 billion USD) to the State budget.

Launched by the Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs' Association in 2003, the annual award aims to encourage domestic enterprises to build prestigious brands and improve competitiveness amid international integration.-Enditem
