FIVE QUAKES STRIKE IN A SINGLE DAY

Bengkulu, Sept 2 (ANTARA) - On Tuesday (Sept 2) until 18:00:07 West Indonesia Standard Time (WIB), five tectonic earthquakes shook different parts of Indonesia.

According to the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, the first quake measuring at 6.3 on the Richter scale struck at 00:19:13 WIB with its epicenter located 336 km northeast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, in a depth of 10 Km.

Then another quake with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richtar scale struck at 07:06:48 WIB with its epicenter 167 Km southeast of Bengkulu, Bengkulu province, in a depth of 35 km.

A tremor measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck at 10:14:38 WIB with its epicenter 201 Km northwest of aumlaki, Maluku, in a depth of 139 km.

Then a quake with a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richtar scale struck 91 km northwest of Tanah Masa, North Sumatera in a depth of 10 km, and the last one measured at 5.4 on the Richter scale struck at 18:00:07 WIB with its epicenter 31 km northwest of Ruteng, East Nusa Tenggara in a depth of 126 km.
