SPEAKER MEETS DELEGATION OF IRKUTSK
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker D.Demberel received Wednesday a delegation led by Mrs. L.M.Berlina, parliamentary leader of Russian Irkutsk oblast. The delegation is visiting at invitation of the Mongolia-Russia parliamentary group at the State Great Khural.
The Speaker has noted that Irkutsk oblast has played a main role in history of the Mongolia-Russia traditional relations and cooperation, and that it significantly contributed to training Mongolian intellectuals. He has mentioned the Mongolian side is paying a great attention to the 90th anniversary of the Mongolia-Russia diplomatic relations to be celebrated this year.
Mentioning that Mongolia and the oblast have traditional and wide cooperation in many fields, the Speaker has said both parliamentary and governmental delegations might take part in this year's Baikal Economic Forum (BEF), and expressed his satisfaction with a decision of S.Mironov, a chairman of the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation's (RF) Federal Assembly, to pay a visit to Mongolia before the forum.
D.Demberel has said Mongolia has a wide opportunity to forward the ties with Irkutsk oblast and to develop the collaboration in the fields of agriculture, culture, education and tourism. He has underlined the visit of Mrs. Berlina made a vital step to bring the cooperation between the State Great Khural and Irkutsk oblast's parliament into a new level.
In her turn, Mrs. Berlina has expressed her satisfaction with visiting Mongolia and thanked the Speaker for the audience. “Irkutsk oblast is a good friend and a reliable partner of Mongolia. This year, both our region and Mongolia will celebrate several big anniversaries...Irkutsk oblast has decided to establish its representative in UB city," she said.
The sides have considered as necessity to widen the ties and collaboration between the legislative bodies for the sake of both sides' interest.
Present at the meeting were D.Zorigt, head of the Standing committee on economics; D.Arvin and D.Baldan-Ochir MPs; S.Banzragch, an advisor to the Speaker, and others.
