MAYOR MEETS KFAED AND KCCI LEADERS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In a scope the visit to Kuwait, the UB Mayor G.Monkhbayar met Tuesday with Abdulwahab Al-Bader, a chairman of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's (KFAED) Board, and Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanim, a chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The Mayor has aimed to put forward 44 projects and programs worked out by the capital city, and to cooperate with the Kuwaiti side in implementing these projects and programs.
The Mayor has underlined that a support of the KFAED rendered from 1990 has contributed to a development of Mongolia widening the collaboration, and said Mongolia, especially Ulaanbaatar city are at the start of development thanks to beginning to exploit the biggest mineral deposits.
Mentioning the UB city is facing a big problems as to provide people with apartments, he has said the city put proposals to the Kuwaiti side to develop mutually beneficial collaboration in order to attract investors instead of taking assistance from them. He has said the government of Mongolia decided to issue bonds of MNT 800 billion, of which 300 billion will be spent for constructing apartments in UB. He also has said a forum of investors will run May 10 this year in UB city, and invited the KFAED's officials to it.
In response, the KFAED's chairman has expressed a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia. “We are ready to develop it infrastructure, energy and social sectors. We have positively accepted Mongolian Premier's proposal to construct a pediatric hospital in Ulaanbaatar,” Mr. Al-Bader has stressed adding they are awaiting detailed information from Mongolia. Although the bilateral cooperation has been running successfully, the Mongolian side is not prompt in some matters, he added.
Mr. Al-Ghanim has underlined the bilateral cooperation in the economic sector is not enough because of geographical location. “There is almost nothing in the trade turnover and investments between our countries,” he has said.
The Mayor has proposed to cooperate in accordance with the concession rule, and invited Mr. Al-Ghanim to attend the investors' forum in Ulaanbaatar.
Mr. Al-Ghanim has accepted the invitation promising to visit Mongolia in the nearest future. Additionally, he has promised to introduce the proposals to the KCCI's members.
After the meeting, the Mayor got au fait with Kuwait city's sewage plant.
