Thai defence minister visits China
BANGKOK, April 27 (TNA) - Thai Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan is paying an official visit to China from April 27-30--aimed to strengthen military ties and cooperation between Bangkok and Beijing.
Before his departure from Bangkok on Wednesday, General Prawit told reporters that his trip had been scheduled previously and he would not ask China to play a mediation role on unsettled border issues between Thailand and Cambodia.
The Thai defence minister said that his talks with Cambodian authorities should happen after his return from the four-day trip to China. (TNA)
