Talabani stresses importance to expand relations with EU states
Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani stressed the importance of expanding and consolidating Iraq's relations with the European Union countries in all fields.
A statement issued on Tuesday, Apr. 26, by the President's Office said that during his meeting with the EU delegation, Talabani talked of Iraq's political and economic situation and stability Iraq enjoys that offers opportunity as well as encourages European investment and firms participation in its construction scheme in all fields.
Talabani also shed light on the progress Iraq is witnessing in the security field, which reflects positively on the return of normal life in areas that did not have stable security.
For their part, members of the EU delegation stressed the importance of the EU continue their relations with Iraq pointing out their countries' intention to expand relations with Iraq, which contributes toward developing mutual economic, cultural and educational relations.
