Kim Jong-Il attends concert on occasion of Korean People's Army Day
PYONGYANG, April 26 (Itar-Tass) - North Korean leader Kim Yong-Il
attended, along with military servicemen, a concert by the State Merited
Chorus, timed to coincide with the national holiday - 79th anniversary of
forming the Korean People's Army, the KCNA news agency reports.
The general secretary of the Korean Workers Party (KWP) and chairman
of the State Defence Committee praised mastery of actors and emphasised
that their musical show "is in line with the revolutionary spirit of the
Korean Army".
The actors performed patriotic songs, including "Long live
Generalissimus Kim Il-Sung!", "Where are you, dear general?" and "We shall
defend the leader of the revolution with our lives!", which, as the news
agency notes, "reflects the steel will of the North Korean Army and people
to complete the revolutionary course, mapped out by the party and to
create a prosperous power".
Along with Kim Jong-Il, the concert was attended by his younger son
Kim Jong-Un, holding the post of deputy chairman of the KWP Central
Military Committee, headed by his father, and chief of the General Staff,
Vice-Marshal Lee Young Ho.
