Putin to consider in Denmark energy, transport coop prospects

COPENHAGEN, April 26 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin will visit Denmark on Tuesday where he will hold talks with Prime
Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, visit the headquarters of A.P.
Moller-Maersk Group and will meet with Queen Margrethe II and
businesspeople. It is his first visit to the northern kingdom. Earlier,
Putin and Rasmussen had already met three times.
"I'm glad to have a new opportunity to discuss with Prime Minister
Vladimir Putin important for our countries issues," Rasmussen said on the
eve of the visit. "This visit is a clear evidence of the strengthening of
our bilateral relations in recent years. There is a wide range of
political and economic spheres in which our countries can benefit from
cooperation and mutual exchanges."
The two heads of government are expected to discuss prospects for
Russian-Danish trade and economic partnership in such spheres as energy,
transport, agriculture and exploration of the Arctic. They will also
address the most pressing international problems. The signing of over 10
bilateral documents on cooperation between the two countries in various
fields is planned on the results of the talks.
After that the Russian government head will visit A.P. Moller-Maersk
Group and will meet its leadership. It is a major Danish group of
companies with offices in 130 countries, including Russia. Last year,
Putin and Rasmussen attended in St. Petersburg the opening ceremony of the
first direct trans-Atlantic freight traffic line between Russia and Latin
America, operated by Maersk Line.
The next stage of the Russian prime minister's visit is a meeting with
Queen Margrethe II, who will visit Russia this autumn.
The visit will end with Putin's meeting with the heads of the
companies - participants in the Russian-Danish Business Forum. Established
last year during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's state visit to
Denmark, the Business Forum is a platform to strengthen the dialogue
between the two countries' entrepreneurs. A regular meeting of the
Business Forum will be held in the Danish capital on the occasion of Putin'
s visit and its Internet portal containing information on the
Russian-Danish economic cooperation, investment climate and business
opportunities in both countries will be officially opened.
