Radiation background normal in Sakhalin region

VLADIVOSTOK, April 26 (Itar-Tass) - Background radiation was normal in
the Sakhalin region at 09:00, local time (02:00 MSK) Tuesday, no
deviations have been registered.
According to the Sakhalin department of the hydrometeorology service,
the background radiation level in the region is in the range from 6 to 15
micro-roentgens per hour. Intensified monitoring of the radiation
situation continues by efforts of 99 posts.
Data obtained from the observations are transmitted every two hours to
the Crisis Management Centre of the Sakhalin region. There is no threat to
the population there.
