Stability remains at Si Sa Ket on Thai-Cambodian border

SI SA KET, April 25 (TNA) - Conditions have remained stable in Thailand’s northeast Si Sa Ket province, along the disputed areas with Cambodia near Preah Vihear Temple.

Patrols were deployed on Monday by the Thai military at points leading to Preah Vihear national park in Kantaralak district. Updated reports have so far confirmed sustained peace in the area, despite the latest crossfire between Thai and Cambodian troops in Surin province last Friday.

People in Bhumsarol locality were seen attending to daily activities and businesses amid the monitoring of border situations.

Meanwhile, authorities on the Thai side have not lifted the closure of Chong Sa-ngam permanent border pass in Phu Sing district, which closed on Sunday after gunfire rang out again in Surin. (TNA)
