Kyrgyz pres wishes well-being & mutual understanding to Christians

BISHKEK, April 24 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva
congratulated on Easter orthodox Christians in the republic, Itar-Tass
learnt on Sunday at the press service of the Kyrgyz head of state.
"Holy Easter is the blessed triumph of life, kindness and love over
death, evil and hatred," she claimed. "The tradition of this holiday comes
from hoary centuries, symbolising revitalisation and renovation of the
soul and the moral world of man."
According to the president, regrettably, conflicts flare up in many
regions of the world over the past few years, including on inter-racial
grounds, as a result of which people die and are deprived of their homes;
the aged, women and children also become victims of these conflicts. "This
calamity swooped on us last year; we faced the destructive forces of evil
and those who defy such human values as good-neighbourly relations and
peace-loving," the president continued.
However, Otunbayeva went on to say, unification of entire Kyrgyz
society, state power, political and civil organisations, people of various
nationalities, faiths and social segments for preservation of unity of
people and integrity of the country was "an earnest of stopping violence,
stabilisation of the situation and further development of democratic
process".
"We have convinced that only relying on such immortal human values as
"love your neighbour", displaying patience and respect for one another, we
can reach well-being and prosperity," he underlined. "The desire for peace
and preservation of racial and inter-religious accord is one of the main
tasks of our state, which is also professed by the Christian preaching."
In Otunbayeva's opinion, the multi-national and inter-confessional
nature of Kyrgyzstan is a great boon. "We are duty-bound to remember that
each of us is above all a Man who, secondly, belongs to some nationality
of religion," the head of state acknowledged. "We should know behests of
all prophets who were convinced that God is one, and each of us comes to
him his own way."
She also wished all orthodox Christians of Kyrgyzstan well-being,
mutual understanding and spring revitalisation on the Day of Holy Easter
and the holiday of Christ's Resurrection.
