Gunman in Perth standoff taken to hospital
(AAP) - An injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance following a raid on a house in Perth by tactical response Group officers after a gun was fired in the inner city suburb of Northbridge.
The raid ended a seven-hour siege at the house with officers trying to negotiate with the man using a loud-hailer and with an armoured Bearcat vehicle parked out the front of the property.
A police spokeswoman said after the raid that it is unclear how the man was injured.
Police closed off several streets in the busy entertainment and shopping district while the siege was underway.
The siege started about 9.40am (WST) on Saturday after a shot or shots were fired in or near the house in Lindsay St.
The house was reported to be vacant and it was unclear why the man acted as he did.
Heavily armed TRG officers took up riot shields and shortly after the raid an ambulance pulled up at the house and later took the man to hospital.
