Helmet-wearing campaign launched in Thai South
SONGKHLA, April 23 (TNA) - People in Padang Besar, a major business and tourist area in Thailand's deep South bordering Malaysia, have launched a campaign on a 100-per cent helmet use for the sake of public safety and the promotion of disciplines among road users.
Over 100 people in Padang Besar locality in Sadao District of Songkhla Province rode motorcycles in a procession in the Padang Besar municipality on Saturday to encourage local motorcyclists and pillion riders to always wear crash helmets for their safety.
The activity was also intended as part of nationwide celebrations of the 7th birthday cycle of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulydej of Thailand on December 5, 2011. (TNA)
