Yemeni al-Eman channel launches trial period

SANA'A, Sep. 01 (Saba) - The Yemeni Radio and TV Corporation
launched on Sunday the trial period of al-Eman channel on the
occasion of Ramadan advent.

The channel started its trial by airing live prayer of Taraweeh from
President al-Saleh Mosque in the capital Sana'a.

Head of TV Sector Hussein Ba-Saleem said in a press conference that
the channel establishment based on instructions of President Ali
Abdullah Saleh. He said "the channel will broadcast religious and
guidance programs as well as the Holy Quran and stories about
Prophet Mohammed PBUH".

The channel supervisor said the channel will help deepen the Islamic
concepts of middle-of-the-road and tolerance and fight extremism.
