Khafaji, Melkert discuss political situation
Baghdad (NINA) – Chairman of the Sadrist's Politburo, Karar al-Khafaji, discussed the political situation with the Special Representative of the SG for Iraq (SRSG), Ad Melkert.
A statement issued on Thursday, Apr. 21, by the Politburo's media center said that within the frames' of the Politburo efforts aiming to develop its relations with Arab and international organizations, Khafaji, accompanied by a number of the Ahrar bloc in Parliament, met with Melkert and the delegation accompanying him, discussing a number of important issues concerning the country, mainly the UN's role in getting Iraq out of Chapter VII mandate and Iraq's political scene, in addition to service provided to citizens.
The statement said that Melkert praised the Sadrists' performance in Parliament and the government.
