Bushwalker found dead in northern Tasmania
Police have recovered the body of a bushwalker who went missing in northern Tasmania earlier this week.
Thirty-year-old Jonathan Dent, of Ulverstone, was last seen when he went for a day walk between Gunns Plains and Purton Falls in the Dial Ranges on Tuesday.
Mr Dent, who was a Salvation Army minister, moved to Tasmania only three months ago.
He was an experienced bushwalker, and was carrying thermal blankets, appropriate food, clothing and water.
Teams of police and SES volunteers scoured the area with the assistance of a helicopter on Wednesday, but were unable to find Mr Dent.
Police said they found his body at 1pm (AEST) on Thursday.
Mr Dent's death will be investigated by the coroner.
