RF new geol prospecting possibilities to be discussed Wed

KRASNOYARSK, April 20 (Itar-Tass) - The problems of and new
possibilities for the development of Russia's geological prospecting
sector are to be discussed here by leading Russian and world scientists
and practicians at a MINGEO SIBERIA-2011 international mining and
geological business forum opening here on Wednesday.
Konstantin Ageyenko, leader of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Association
of geologists and mining industrialists, has told Itar-Tass, "The forum
has been organized with a view to stimulating and implementing geological
prospecting and mining projects and to promoting the development of the
mineral raw materials sector of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent
States (CIS).
Ageyenko said, "The forum is developing into a permanent floor for a
wide-ranging productive dialogue on the optimization of the mining and
geological processes, an increase in the productivity of mining and
geological prospecting work, and large-scale introduction of new hi-tech
methods".
This year the forum has drawn the directors of big mining production
plants, mineworkers, and geologists from various mining and geological
companies, sectoral and academic institutes, strategic investors, Russian
and international banks, consultants and representatives of state
regulatory and management bodies of Russia, CIS, Western Europe,
Australia, New Zealand, and North America.
Science and practical training seminars, master classes, and
roundtable meetings are to be held within the scope of the forum. An
exhibition of modern technologies and geological prospecting and mining
equipment has been arranged as well.
"The subjects of reports and discussions become utterly specific and
topical from year to year. Many participants pointed out that over the
past five years the forum not only became a place for the sharing of
experience and and (business) contacts but has also taken shape as a
certain discussion ground and bridge for interaction with the
authorities," Ageyenko stressed.
Krasnoyarsk Territory Vice-Governor Andrei Gnezdilov pointe out, "The
leadership of the country lays special emphasis on the introduction and
advancement of new technologies. These may be in demand precisley in the
mining sector as never before. Territorial authorities have a desire to
give help in this respect. The mining industry is exactly the sphere
through which we shall be able to accompish this task".
The MINGEO SIBERIA-2011 forum is to come to a close on April 23.
