Russia, Belarus DefMins to discuss mil coop'n prospects

MOSCOW, April 20 (Itar-Tass) - The Defence Ministers of Russia and
Belarus, Anatoly Serdyukov and Yuri Zhadobin, meet in Minsk on Wednesday
to discuss prospects for the development of the two countries' military
cooperation.
An official at the Russian Defence Ministry press-service and
information directorate has told Itar-Tass, "Russian Minister of Defence
Anatoly Serdyukov will arrive in Minsk on Wednesday for a working visit in
accordance with the plan for bilateral cooperation between the Defence
Ministries of Russia and Belarus". While in Minsk, the Russian Minister is
to meet with his Belarusian counterpart, Lieutenant General Yuri Zhadoboin.
The RF Ministry official pointed out, "The Defence ministers of the
two countries will attend a joint session of the Boards of the Defence
Ministries of Russia and Belarus to consider matters concerning a further
development of bilateral military cooperation".
Serdyukov said earlier that Cooperative Action -- 2011 joint
exercises, which are to be held at military ranges in Nizhny Novgorod and
Astrakhan Regions in September, would be this year's major arrangement for
the armies of the two countries.
