Yemen, donors held second consultative meeting

SANA'A, Aug. 31 (Saba)- Yemen's government and its development's
partners held on Sunday their second consultative meeting chaired by
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi.

The meeting was assigned for discussing latest developments associated with Yemeni tendencies for allocating resources regarding
funding relief efforts and reconstruction in Sa'ada governorate as
well as forming a committee from the government and donors for
coordinating support efforts.

In the meeting, al-Arhabi expressed Yemeni government's appreciation
to keenness of Yemen's development partners (donors) in supporting
and enhancing government efforts aiming at accelerating remedies of
humanitarian and material effects resulted in five-year government
war with rebels in Sa'ada.

He noted importance of speeding up providing argent needs for
helping homeless people and supporting government's efforts in
reconstructing damaged areas and its keenness on speeding up
carrying out infrastructure projects in Sa'ada.

He valued initiative of many regional and international
non-government organizations for heading to affected areas in the
governorate and making surveys for supporting government's efforts
in this field.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Local Administration Ja'afar Hamed
clarified that the number of refugees who returned to their villages
and houses reaches 12930 families contain more than 90 thousand
person and that 3274 family still living in areas housing them.

He noted that damages have been counted covered 6 thousand house,
900 farm, 80 school, 5 health center, 3 centers for agricultural
guidance and 90 mosque. He called on Yemen's development partners to
support government efforts for providing emergent needs for helping
displaced people.
