Yemen, JICA reviews cooperation relations
SANA'A, Aug. 31 (Saba) - Yemeni government and Japanese
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have discussed means of
boosting relations between them, the vice president of JICA Kenzo
Oshima said.
Upon his departure Sana'a, Oshima stated to Saba that he has
discussed with Yemeni officials issues related to strengthening
Yemeni-Japanese relations, which have a "promising future", as he
said.
JICA is responsible for the technical cooperation aspect of Japan's
ODA programs.
Technical cooperation is aimed at the transfer of technology and
knowledge that can serve the socioeconomic development of the
developing countries. JICA carries out a variety of programs to
support the nation building of developing countries through such
technical cooperation.
JICA has about 1,200 staff members working both in Japan and at its
more than fifty overseas offices.
