MINISTER ATTENDS ANNUAL SPRING MEETING
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by S.Bayartsogt, the Finance Minister, took part in the Annual and Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group held April 16-17 in Washington, USA.
The Minister has held meetings with the vice presidents of the World Bank (WB) and IMF for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, and with IMF and WB director for Mongolian affairs and authorities. He has talked about a socio-economic situation in Mongolia, shared views on further cooperation.
At a consultation of the meeting, S.Bayartsogt delivered a report about making the taxation system more effective for the economic development of Mongolia, shared experiences with other countries. Then he exchanged views with officials of the IMF on ways of improving the taxation management of the countries who develop the mining, and agreed to cooperate in strengthening the service for tax payers in Mongolia.
The Finance Minister has given a report to the WB and IMF's authorities on drawing rates of Mongolia, and asked the WB to intensify a procedure of the drawing rates. In order to attract international investors, Mongolia and the WB's Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency have agreed to develop direct collaboration.
S.Bayartsogt has exchanged views with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on opportunity to boost a cooperation. The IFC has expressed a willingness to back business activities of small- and small-sized productions to increasing number of jobs.
