Rangoon-Phuket flight service launched
PHUKET, April 19 (TNA) - Good news for the people who want to travel directly between Yangon, Burma and Phuket Island, Thailand as an airline has launched a direct flight service between the two destinations.
Burmese tourists boarding an Air Bagan flight from Rangoon walked happily into the terminal at Phuket International Airport. They were warmly welcomed with garlands from local officials of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai tour agents before traveling on to appreciate the beautiful marine attractions of Phuket.
Air Bagan is the first airline to operate direct flights between Phuket and Yangon, and offers cheaper and faster trips for people from the towns. The new service, taking only two hours, also targets tourists from Europe, Asia and other continents.
Tourists from Phuket flying to Burma can seek visas upon arrival. The service, which runs on Mondays and Fridays, should be a comfortable choice for travelers to experience tourist attractions both in Burma and Phuket. (TNA)
