D.IDEVKHTEN MEETS SPOUSE OF FORMER AMBASSADOR
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Exrtaordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation (RF) D.Idevkhten received Monday Mrs. Maria Ivanonva Schetinina, a spouse of late S.N.Schetinin who was the ambassador of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) to Mongolia in 1968-1973.
An Honored Teacher of Russia Schetinina taught Russian language from 1962 to many students, including Mongolian pupils and students, and still has connection with them, she said. She worked as a teacher and dean in the Russian language training faculty of the Irkutsk State University in 1962-1968, and as the Russian language teacher in Mongolia's State University (MSU) in 1968-1973. From 1973 to retirement, she taught the language in the Russian Language Institute named after A.S.Pushkin in Moscow.
Then Schetinina showed the Ambassador photos of her Mongolian students and talked about her life.
The Ambassador has thanked Schetinina for "sincerely teaching the Mongolians", emphasizing she has "significantly contributed to development of Mongolia through her pupils".
After the meeting, the Ambassador granted her the "Merit of Teacher" medal.
