Pakistan terror alert up in twin city
ISLAMABAD, April 18, 2011 (PPI): Security, in and around twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad, has been put on high alert after Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) intercepted a telephonic conversation, allegedly linked to a plan of triggering terror attack in a couple of days to come.
One of two terror suspects - allegedly commando of a defunct outfit - who was talking on mobile phone, belongs to Mohmand Agency while the other hailed from Rawalpindi, sources said further.
According to police sources, terrorists were plotting to carry out a suicide attack during a mobile phone conversation which was intercepted by intelligence department of LAEs and according to which; heavy cache of explosives has been transported to twin cities.
“Rawalpindi and Islamabad are under serious threat of a massive terror attack therefore twin cities’ security has been tightened,” said an official.
