Maliki, Iraqiya law makers assert necessity to stand together in facing challenges
Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki discussed with law makers from Iraqiya Slate, political developments and relations between Parliament and the government.
A statement on Sunday, Apr. 17, by Maliki's Office said, "In the meeting, Maliki called for Parliament's cooperation to finalizing the state's institutions on modern base, asserting that government can not work without the support of Parliament."
It added, "The meeting discussed also the challenges facing Iraq, and the region's on going developments, asserting the necessity for standing together in facing domestic and foreign challenges."
Participants in the meeting pointed out the necessity to continue holding such meetings stressing their importance toward reaching common points of view between the legislative and the executive bodies.
