Demand for floating shares of Russia firms in Hong Kong big enough

HONG KONG, April 17 (Itar-Tass) - The demand for floating stocks of
Russian companies in Hong Kong is high enough, reckons managing director
of the En+Group Artem Volynets
"We are very pleased with the listing of RUSAL. Share sell over the
price of placing. Investors who participated are also satisfied and ask
when we shall start the next campaign," Volynets told reporters.
He did not specify IPO of which companies they prepare.
"We have no right to comment on future floats, but the strategy lies
in linking Russian production, Chinese demand and Hong Kong stock market,"
he noted.
"We have been working with Hong Kong for long and brought RUSAL to the
exchange a year ago. "That was of great importance for us," Volynets
noted. According to the director manager, it follows from polls that
"RUSAL has become the most noticeable Russian company in China".
The En+Group believes that the formula is simple: Russian
goods-Chinese market-Hong Kong capital market- shares market. "This will
help to get an access to the capital market which can be used for
investments in Russia. We believe that the huge potential in Eastern
Siberia, coupled with the demand in China, will be of great importance for
further development of that region in Russia," Volynets said.
"We have many various other companies in the group, looking with great
interest both at the Chinese market and the Hong Kong stock market," he
noted.
In Volynets' opinion, there cannot be any restrictions on floating,
since the volumes of the Hong Kong capital market are vast enough. "But
it is likely that companies, interested in listings, should have some
links with China," he added.
As an example, he instanced RUSAL which, in the opinion of the
En+Group chief, may take a share of 30 percent in five or ten years. China
is a big buyer of aluminium in the world and consumes nearly 40 percent of
world sales.
According to Volynets, companies, operating in Russia and selling to
China, have great opportunities to get funds on the Hong Kong stock
exchange.
