Rainfall causing delays on Sydney roads
AAP-April,16-Motorists are being urged to slow down on Sydney roads, with heavy rain causing localised flooding in several areas.
The city's northern suburbs have been particularly affected by Saturday morning's heavy rainfall, with traffic moving slowly on the F3, NSW Department of Transport spokesman Marco Spadaccini said.
"We have had a number of minor incidents on Sydney roads as a result of the heavy rain this morning," Mr Spadaccini said.
"We are asking motorists to take care, slow down and give an extra few minutes to their journey."
Two lanes of the F3 at Somersby on the Central Coast were closed following a minor accident before re-opening at 10am (AEST).
However, heavy rainfall on the motorway between Hornsby and Newcastle is continuing to cause delays.
Localised flooding across the northern suburbs has led to some road closures, with Oxford Falls Road closed in both directions at the Wakehurst Parkway.
There is also water over the road on Syd Einfeld Drive in Woollahra.
