Tehran, Vancouver to host Bismillah Festival simultaneously
TEHRAN, April 16 (MNA) -- The eighth edition of the Bismillah Festival is scheduled to be held in Tehran and Vancouver at the same time in July.
The festival focuses on posters and calligraphy and logotype works on the theme of Bismillah in Persian, Arabic, English, and French.
An Iranian gallery owner in Vancouver has asked to hold an exhibition of the works competing at the festival, Festival director Mohammadreza Kamareii said told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency on Friday.
He gave no other details about the gallery owner.
The festival is expected to be warmly welcomed by foreign artists, Kamareii said.
Many Canadian, American and Chinese artists have sent emails asking to participate in the festival, he added.
A board of graphic design artists will select works for the ten-day festival, which will begin on July 20.
The organizer of the festival, the Moka’ab-e Honar Institute, has previously held exhibitions in Morocco, Germany and Italy.
