Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan to discuss regional trade
URMIA, West Azerbaijan Prov., April 16 (MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Friday that Iran is seeking to increase the volume of trade in the region in cooperation with Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Salehi made the remarks in Urmia, West Azerbaijan Province, which is hosting a trilateral meeting of the Iranian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani foreign ministers today.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will be attending the meeting.
Discussions will be held to explore ways to increase the volume of trade in the region, which is one of the most important points on the agenda of the meeting, Salehi stated.
This goal will be achieved if Turkey and Azerbaijan adopt an appropriate stance toward the issue, he added.
Promoting ties with neighboring states in all areas is a foreign policy priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Salehi said.
He also stated that Iran is seeking to boost its non-oil exports to all countries.
