Medvedev to address "Asian Davos".

SANYA, April 15 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will
address the Boao Forum for Asia on Friday to promote the Russian economic
role in Asia, as well as Asian assistance to Russian modernization.
Medvedev's foreign policy aide Sergei Prikhodko said the Boao Forum,
which is modeled after the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, "is
a good platform to promote mutual interests."
Medvedev's address "is a demonstration of our attitude to the
development of cooperation in the APEC framework and in the whole of Asia
and the Pacific Rim," he said.
"We want to feel what colleagues expect from Russia and how they see
our engagement in labor division and efforts to liberalize trade regimes
and eliminate trade barriers in the region. It is very important for us,"
Prikhodko said.
"The Russian work in the Boao Forum for Asia will promote Russian
economic integration in Asia and the Pacific Rim and engagement of the
regional potential in modernization processes, as well as efficient use of
cooperation possibilities with China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and
ASEAN member-states in the interests of social and economic development of
Siberia and the Far East," Prikhodko said.
