Girl reported among Minsk blast suspects

MINSK, April 15 (Itar-Tass) -- The five suspects detained in
connection with the terrorist act in Minsk metro are all under 25 years of
age and there is a girl among them, according to deputy head of the
Investigation department of the office of the prosecutor general Oleg
Voronin.
"Yes, there is a girl among the detained," he told the Belarussian TV
late on Thursday.
He added all the suspects who have reportedly confessed in organizing
the blast that killed 12 people and injured dozens on Monday were under 25
years of age.
"That means they were under 19 years when the terrorist act in Vitebsk
was committed," Voronin said. The detained are suspected of organizing
terrorist acts in Vitebsk in 2005 and in Minsk in 2008.
First Deputy Interior Minister Oleg Pekarsky said the suspected
terrorists "wanted to kill as many people as possible."
He said the man who set off the explosive device was a Vitebsk
resident. "He had enough skills to make an explosive device," Voronin
said, but refused to disclose the occupation of the man. He only said he
was not a law enforcer.
All the five rented an apartment in Minsk and were drunk when police
detained them there, according to Pekarsky.
