Ural city to hold charity auction for Japan

YEKATERINBURG, April 15 (Itar-Tass) -- The Ural city of Yekaterinburg
will hold a charity auction to raise funds and assist Japan that was hit
by a devastating earthquake and tsunami last month.
The Japan Information and Cultural Center told Tass the charity event
will be held in the framework of a festival of Japanese culture that
begins on Friday in the Urals.
Organizers said everyone wishing could place photos at the website
Fragile Beauty of Japan. The best were selected for an exhibition and will
be auctioned to raise funds.
The festival will also feature a Japanese language contest for
children. The jury will comprise Noguchi Monato who teaches the Japanese
language in the Ural University and student Dai Yamawaki who studies the
Russian language.
