Two million watch My Kitchen Rules final
AAP-April,14-More than two million people tuned in to see Sydney sisters Sammy and Bella Jakubiak crowned My Kitchen Rules second series winners, the show's highest ratings ever.
The ratings for the last half hour of the show when the winners were announced reached 2.02 million, while the first hour of the program attracted an audience of 1.719 million.
The first series final of the Seven cooking reality show attracted an audience of more than 1.5 million.
Although the ratings have increased, they still fall short of the 3.96 million that tuned in to watch Adam Liaw announced as the winner of the second series of MasterChef last year.
The MasterChef series two final has the highest ratings since records began for any non-sporting event in Australia.
Seven's new US police series Detroit 1-8-7 managed to scrape into the top ten with 883,000 viewers on Wednesday night.
Ten's 6.30pm with George Negus also drew its highest ever audience since its January debut, attracting 488,000 viewers.
The show had been averaging audiences between 300,000 and 400,000 when it was on at 6pm but has improved its ratings since moving to the more traditional current affairs timeslot at 6.30pm.
The program's average audience is up 34 per cent, since it changed timeslots on April 4.
