Thai PM voted the top model father among politicians

BANGKOK, April 14 (TNA) - Surveyed people in Bangkok and surrounding provinces have voted Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva the top model father among Thai politicians.
Thanitcha Limpanich, manager of the Family Network Foundation, and Noppadol Kannikar, director of the Academic Network for Community Happiness Observation and Research of Assumption University, reported on Thursday results of the recent survey on family promotion campaigns and model fathers, which was conducted on 1,320 people aged 12-30 in Bangkok and its adjacent areas from April 5-13, 2011.
Among politicians, 47.3 per cent of the respondents voted Premier Abhisit the top model father, followed by former Thai premier Chuan Leekpai, also a Democrat who was favoured by 24.3 per cent of the surveyed people.
The lion’s share or 42.4 per cent of the respondents wanted the Thai government to promote families’ activities and tours; 21.8 per cent wanted the government to place more importance on activities on the occasion of the National Fathers' Day on December 5; 19.9 per cent wanted more training to make fathers more responsible; 13.4 per cent urged for campaigns against indecent behaviors of fathers; 11.7 per cent wanted campaigns for fathers to help mothers raise their children; 10.7 per cent wanted campaigns against domestic violence; and 5.5 per cent have other recommendations such as more national holidays to promote family reunion.
