Tyumen police arrest foreigner who tried to sell 13-year-old girl
YEKATERINBURG, April 14 (Itar-Tass) - Police in Tyumen arrested a
citizen of a former Soviet republic who tried to sell a 13-year-old
schoolgirls to pimps, the press service of the regional department of the
Prosecutor General's Office told Itar-Tass.
The man tried to sell the schoolgirl for 10,000 roubles. Criminal
proceedings were opened over human trafficking. If convicted, the man
might face up to ten years in jail.
The investigation into the criminal case is under special supervision.
Deputy Prosecutor General Yuri Zolotov ordered the regional prosecutor to
determine the degree of responsibility of the Federal Migration Service
officials, who had "failed to act in time to terminate the foreigner's
staying in the country."
