Yemen reaffirms continuousness of humanitarian efforts to Somali

SHABWA, Aug. 29 (Saba) - Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Ali Muthanna
Hassan pointed out on Friday that Yemen continues humanitarian
efforts to provide aids to Somali refugees in the country.

Hassan said that his country's the Supreme National Commission for
Refugees seeks to resolve any problems and difficulties which oppose
the activities of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) in Yemen.

During a visit paid by Hassan, Shabwa province governor Ali
al-Ahmadi and the resident representative of UNHCR Mrs. Claire
Bourgois to a Somali refugee reception centre in Shabwa province,
they were briefed by the center's officials on the humanitarian
assistances and services provided by the centre for the new arrival
of Somali refugees to Yemen.

They acquired the proceedings taken with non-Somali refugees in the
province as well as residential and service installations in the
center.

Al-Ahmadi and Hassan renewed Yemen's continued policy to provide all
forms of accommodation and care for the Somali refugees coming to
the country consistent with its humanitarian and international
obligations and commitments in this regard.
