Sayhoud: discussing the abolition of RCC resolutions distracts parliament from its legislative role

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from National Alliance, Mohammed Sadoun Al Sayhoud, called for forming special committee to study the abolition of the Revolution Command Council's (of the former regime) resolutions, Sayhoud stated Wednesday.

He said "it is necessary to form a committee from inside and outside the parliament to study the laws and resolutions of RCC to cancel or amend them so that they cope with the current stage, instead of doing that inside the parliament, a matter that distracts the parliament from carrying out its legislating role."

"There are 3500 RCC laws and resolutions and they would need long time to be discussed inside the parliament," he added.

Sayhoud wondered how the Parliament Speaker could not notice this case which hurts the parliament's work because it needs this time to legislate laws, pointing out that the parliament legislated only one law so far, the Vice Presidents Law, and endorsed the Budget, a matter that indicates major disruption in its work.
