Shah Latif University holds quiz competition to mark Pak-China Friendship Year 2011

Khairpur, April 13, 2011 (PPI): The Department of Media Sciences, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Wednesday organized a quiz competition in connection with celebration of 2011 as Pak-China Friendship Year, as declared by Government of Pakistan.

Prof Dr. Syed Ahmed Hussain Shah, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences & Arts was the chief guest. Dr. Shah in his speech shed light on Pak-China relations and said that China is trust worthy friend of Pakistan. China generously supported Pakistan in the fields of Military, Trade and Commerce. He said most of mega projects of Pakistan had been completed with help of China. On international forum, the stand of China for Pakistan is laudable.


Prof Dr. Taj Mohammad Lashari, Chairman Department of Media Studies said China is main challenger against Indian hegemony. China is all weather partner of Pakistan on different issues. There is proximity between two countries. He said China is striving to solve the energy problems of Pakistan and the Thar Coal project is a step in this regard.

The cash prizes of 3000/- were distributed among the winner teams. 1st position was secured by Team-B consisting of Miss Urooj Zehra and Mohammad Ali Buriro. A-team got second position consisting of Miss Bushra Syed and Sahib Khan Shaikh while third position was secured by C-team consisting of Riasat Ali Jiskani and Ahmed Ali Rajper.

A large number of teachers and students were present on the occasion.
