PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION STAYS IN USA


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Left for Panama to attend the 124th Assembly of the Inter parliamentary Union (IPU), the parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker D.Demberel has stayed in the USA for holding some meetings.
On Monday, the Speaker has held a short meeting with representatives of the "Civil Hall USA" at the Embassy of Mongolia in the USA. Apart of the Speaker, present at the meeting were G.Batkhuu, a Vice Speaker; Ch.Saikhanbileg MP, a leader of the Democratic Party's faction at the State Great Khural; and B.Bekhbat, the Ambassador of Mongolia to the USA. They have shared views on an opportunity for Mongolians abroad to vote in elections. Then, the Civil Hall has presented a postcard to the Speaker.
In conjunction with altering the law on election at meeting of this spring's session, the right for Mongolians abroad to vote is being discussed for years attracting attention of the public. The Speaker has mentioned that the matter will be influenced by the census and registration of Mongolian people abroad, and then expressed his position on it.
